Eclipse Adventure

December 21st, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

I am writing this in March because I was very remiss and did not update this blog for months. I had to write about a special night  from last year which I failed to put on the blog.  One of the highlights of the year (really of my life)  was to watch the lunar eclipse on [...]

Chances

November 15th, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

I am so sorry that I have not posted anything for several months.  Now I will go back and fill in the blanks.
On November 12th we took in a young man who is homeless.  It happened in an odd way.  I get a call from a lady who says she knows me but I [...]

Ionizing Radiation

November 9th, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

Today I finished two radiation videos for You Tube. They are pretty hard hitting, which I intended. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXR2A4mnV6o My objective is to wake people up on this subject. It is not normal that so many people are getting cancer. It is not something that just happens. Per my research and books that [...]

Medicine Today

November 3rd, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

I follow the Heart Scan Blog written by cardiologist Dr. William Davis. It is enjoyable reading his take on many health matters. This particular blog highlights a letter Dr. Davis received from a medical student. She says it all perfectly and illustrates how much of medicine is actually dictated by the [...]

Vitamin B5 and Stress

November 1st, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

Well, many things have changed over the past couple of weeks. First I had decided to go into the travel industry selling cruises. My thought was that this is a happy industry that seems to be holding up pretty well through this economic downturn. I started the training two weeks ago and [...]

Worry

Another Saga
I haven’t posted anything in weeks because of problems with Kayla. It seems we go from one thing to another. First we had two asthma attacks one in August and one in September. The resulting steroids worked for the asthma but turned Kayla into an emotional monster. She gets particularly [...]

More on Insurance

October 9th, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

Well, I spoke to a person who wants to remain anonymous who told me the following; any adult on medicaid with now find their options being winnowed down as doctors refuse to carry this insurance. Remember the hard time we had finding an orthopedist for Kayla’s broken wrist? This same scenario is [...]

Learning

October 3rd, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

My writing for this blog has been sporadic these past two months due to Kayla being sick quite a bit. I feel like an idiot thinking that we would have smooth sailing after getting off chemo. Two asthma attacks that were pretty bad, meant Kayla having to take steroids on a daily basis. [...]

Insurance

September 21st, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

Kayla had a possible break in her wrist this month. The emergency room told us that they did not see anything on the x-ray but if pain persisted to follow up with an orthopedist. We waited three days and with the continued symptoms I started calling orthopedists to get an appointment.
I have to [...]

Writing Contest

September 7th, 2010  |  by debwitter  |  Published in Uncategorized

Besides the angst with Kayla’s asthma (thankfully now over) I was busy working on a writing project. Glamor Magazine hosts an essay contest every year and I decided to enter. With the help of friends giving me their critiques and minor edits, I sent the completed essay in last night.
My previous contest with [...]
