Last week I received an email from a lady who had read the website. She told me about her son’s cancer and some interesting things that she has found to be workable. One of the main points is her use of fresh juicing. Janine said that she saw more of a return on her investment with the juicing than with vitamins. This I found surprising and decided to try it with Kayla.
We started juicing every morning with a mixture of carrots, apple, celery and cucumber. On the first day it became apparent that Kayla was much calmer. Kayla has had what I would call low-level agitation since she started her treatment and although supplements have helped, nothing has really handled it. Now, six days into our new regimen and I am very happy to report that drinking fresh vegetable juices has definitely improved Kayla’s demeanor, which results in a happier house for all of us. Kayla only drinks four ounces a day in the morning with breakfast.
Because of studies that I read on juicing, today I added half an onion to our blend. This was done with great trepidation but one of the studies stated the health benefits of onion juice so we tried it. Much to our surprise our drink was delicious!
I am in the midst of composing a juice page for the website.
We are in full swing with flu/sickness prevention. Here are all of our steps:
- Purchased a mask for daily wear. Kayla wears this at all times in any public places.
- Nasal irrigation is done at least once a day.
- Upon arrival from school, all clothes are removed and placed into the hamper and Kayla takes a shower. This way any lurking germs are removed.
- One vegetable drink every morning.
- In her water container while at school Kayla has 1 Emergen-C packet of Acai Berry flavor, ½ a teaspoon of liquid Zeolite mineral and liquid pro-biotic, ½ teaspoon of Fiber-Sure and a couple of squirts of Ionic Trace minerals by Now Foods. We use trace minerals because all of our drinking water is purified and also alkaline water. Due to purification the water has a lack of minerals.
- One capsule of garlic (low dose), one vitamin E capsule, 100 mg vitamin B1, (for nerves and sleep), 100 mg CO-Q10, 100 mg Zinc, two acidophilus chewables, 1 bone builder chewable, 1 capsule of Udo’s oil, which is Omega 3,6,9 oils and ½ of a Natures Bounty B12 chewable for neuropathy prevention.
For breakfast Kayla has one piece of sprouted grain toast and two eggs over easy.
Lunch is made with nitrate free meats, covered in sprouted grain bread with olive oil mayonnaise and pickles. She always has at least one fruit and a healthy snack.
Right after school Kayla takes her oral chemo and I begin to prepare dinner.
After dinner Kayla gets ½ a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil for its antifungal properties.
Before bed Kayla drinks a tea made with ½ a teaspoon of magnesium and one teabag of chamomile tea. I use Xylitol to sweeten and I also add a ¼ teaspoon of black strap molasses for added nutrition.
This might seem extreme but all of these things have paid off for us. When Kayla first came home from the hospital she was very sick and looked it. With yellow skin, dark circles under her eyes and legs that were withering away. I should say that her whole body was becoming withered. These things combined really scared me and slowly over time our health program was developed. Some of the remedies that I used with her showed an immediate improvement. Others took months. In the least, all of this makes me feel empowered against the cancer monster and chemo monster. This by itself has been therapeutic for my soul.
